Abstract: We will consider the Chabauty topology on the set of all (torsion free) Kleinian groups. A path in the Chabauty topology, which is also known as the topology of geometric convergence, may be viewed as describing a continuous deformation between two hyperbolic 3-manifolds. We will focus on understanding how isomorphism type can change along such a path of Kleinian groups. In particular, I will describe a technique called "chromatography" that can be used to decompose paths of convex cocompact Kleinian groups into simple pieces.
